How Does Hemophilia Disrupt Homeostasis?
When an injury causes a blood vessel wall to break, platelets are activated to stick to the walls of the broken vessel wall to plug the break. This is how homeostasis works in the circulatory system. However, when a person has hemophilia, they are deficient of the platelets and proteins that plug the broken vesell wall which causes the person to bleed longer than normal. The lack of clotting factors in hemophilic patients disrupts homeostasis in the body.
